About Me

My name is Adrienne Klum. I am a graphic and web designer currently based in Ann Arbor, Michigan. Since graduating with a BFA from the University of Michigan in 2004, I have worked both in a professional studio setting and as a freelance designer. citrón:ade design was established in the beginning of 2007, but its foundation has been in the works for years. Owning my own business has given me the incredible opportunity to work for small, independent businesses and organizations. I feel great satisfaction in bringing professional design to the little man (or woman).

When I'm not in front of my beloved Apple, you'll find me outside. I was born in Seattle, and although I have only returned once since moving at the age of six, the majesty of the landscape refuses to escape my memory. Water and mountains — it doesn't get any better! Growing up in Michigan also provided an ideal mix of outdoor landscapes to discover. As a kid, I was always in search of the best fort or creek to claim as my next design project. I have spent the majority of my life sailing, skiing, hiking, exploring and soaking up the Michigan sun (when it comes out). In fact, the best job I ever had was as a sailing instructor. Anyone hiring? :)

My passion for design has long pervaded my conscious mind (and most likely my unconscious). Color, style, balance and composition are the lenses through which I view the world. I focus and refocus these lenses continually as I strive to create dynamic visual communication. I am undeniably competitive, even with myself. With each project, I challenge myself to grow as an artist and designer, in the pursuit of a skill set that is invaluable to my clients and my work.
